Welcome to Oakland Hills

Peaceful community in a sylvan setting with diverse wildlife

Encompassing Oakland’s easternmost neighborhoods, Oakland Hills is graced with gorgeous views, a family-friendly vibe, and breathtaking wildlife. This peaceful community has a sylvan-like setting that makes it a fantastic place to live for those interested in being active and exploring the great outdoors. Oakland Hills is also close to two major highways, Interstate 580 and Route 13, to make commuting a breeze.

Oakland Hills is at a higher elevation than its surrounding area, where the homes are built on hillsides. As such, some homes will get amazing views of the bay, and some will have a sylvan view of the trees or canyon. Strategically situated homes have a direct line of sight to glittering San Francisco. The homes of Oakland Hills come in all shapes and sizes, from popular mid-century modern abodes, and contemporary estates to gorgeous Spanish Revival homes, to ensure every eager home buyer will find something they love.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

Daughter Thai is an upscale Southern Thai restaurant that serves delicious street food in its quaint, modern space. With seating both indoors and outdoors, varying levels of spice, and terrific ambiance, it’s a great place to celebrate something special. Head to Kakui Sushi for unforgettable Japanese fares or Italian Colors for a taste of their vibrant menu. For a mount-watering treat, Miette Patisserie has moved from Jack London Square to Montclair Village. Another new sweet treat on the block that is gaining popularity for its Asian-inspired flavors like Ube snickerdoodle and Hojicha Cookies & Cream Crispy Treat, is Sunday Bakeshop. My absolute favorite is the Cranberry Vanilla Cruffin.

Pelago is a can’t-miss when living in Oakland Hills, where every product is curated with care, and the staff is very helpful. The second you walk into this specialty store packed with home goods and gifts, your entire day will brighten. If you’re looking to keep up with the fashion trends but don’t know where to start, Mercy Vintage on Piedmont Avenue has got you covered from head to toe. They have some of the best women’s fashion in the area, and with an online store for you to browse, shopping just got ten times easier.

Things to Do

Montclair Park is a fantastic place to take your littles to get the wiggles out, get some exercise, or settle down by the pond to watch for turtles. Situated inside the park, Montclair Recreation Center is the perfect place for residents to put their basketball, tennis, and pickleball skills to the test. Another one of Oakland Hills residents’ favorite spots is the Roberts Regional Recreation Area, with 82-acres of brilliant wildlife, beautiful redwood trees, and recreational facilities.

For this next spot, you’ll want to pack up a picnic, blanket, and your favorite sports paraphernalia. Beautiful Lake Temescal is a local destination for walking/hiking, running, fishing, and bird watching. It’s where my kids learned to scoot and bike! If you’re looking to build your community and have some fun while doing it, The Hills Swim & Tennis Club offers fantastic views of Oakland Hills. Members can train in the fitness center, swim in the outdoor pool, and have their children participate in the various optional activities.
